Sara Nelson is the owner of Barbell Kitchen. She holds a credential as a certified Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach (Nutritionist) along with a bachelor’s degree and certifications in exercise movement as a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer, mobility certification, and USAW Sports Performance Coach. With 7 years of coaching experience, she teaches the simplicity behind the science of nutrition through recipes, health articles, and a private coaching practice. She’s dedicated her practice to helping people feel and look their best, uncovering the pillars of health – food, exercise, sleep, and community. She lives in San Marcos with her two kids and used science-based research to help her children, fellow gym-members, and global community implement strategies towards improved health. Her coaching philosophy is based on a macronutrient-dense diet and uses this framework to help clients learn long-term strategies towards health and wellness. Along with diet and exercise, she also helps clients become more aware of their mind-body state and the impact it has on their emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. Her areas of coaching are completely personalized to help you feel your best and achieve wellness; whether that be finding balance, autoimmune conditions, weight loss, muscle gain, or improving your relationship with food itself – she can help you. When she’s not privately coaching, you can catch her in the kitchen baking, or in the gym, Olympic lifting.
